Shedding Blood

Here is Enoch regarding the shedding of the blood of the Lamb being necessary, and why the blood of the Lamb was necessary and a thing to be rejoiced!:

44 And as Enoch saw this, he had bitterness of soul, and wept over his brethren, and said unto the heavens: I will refuse to be comforted; but the Lord said unto Enoch: Lift up your heart, and be glad; and look.

Enoch refuses to be comforted. He knows of his own awful state before God and the awful state of all humanity, and there is no thing to comfort him!

45 And it came to pass that Enoch looked; and from Noah, he beheld all the families of the earth; and he cried unto the Lord, saying: When shall the day of the Lord come? When shall the blood of the Righteous be shed, that all they that mourn may be sanctified and have eternal life?

Enoch wanted to see blood shed! Think of that! He wanted and knew this was the only way. Walking away was not and never is a possible solution to the quandary that Christ found Himself in. It required bloodshed.  BLOOD SHED! Suffering, bleeding, dying as an innocent. This was the requirement. Enoch could not be comforted with anything short of bloodshed, with the innocent being slain and his blood shed!

46 And the Lord said: It shall be in the meridian of time, in the days of wickedness and vengeance.

Christ, the one who doesn't like contention, wants obedience, and non-violence, chooses to come in the days of "wickedness and vengeance".  Which is interesting because when he comes again he is coming with "vengeance and fury". Who is this God? What is this "love" that He has? Why a love which includes vengeance and fury? How is this God so full of love that he comes in such a horrible time?

47 And behold, Enoch saw the day of the coming of the Son of Man, even in the flesh; and his soul rejoiced, saying: The Righteous is lifted up, and the Lamb is slain from the foundation of the world; and through faith I am in the bosom of the Father, and behold, Zion is with me.
Moses 7:44-47

Blood is shed. The sacrifice was made. No withdrawal or self denial.  Christ knew that the only way to redeem was for His blood to be shed, his innocent blood shed, by and at the hands of the wicked.  I'm sure He saw their "goodness." I'm sure he would rather not have condemned the Jews and the Romans.  Yet He knew blood, contention, and reviling were  required. He knew he could not resign! I'm sure there were voices that called for Him to show "compassion" on the wicked. And to just "walk away". I join Enoch in my soul rejoicing that the Righteous is lifted up! The Lamb is slain! And that from the foundation of the world! We hardly know what this means. I praise God that there are some who refuse to resign! Including our Lord and Savior.

My bitterness of soul is swallowed up in the reality that Christ in fact was lifted up on the cross, and slain, and His blood shed. I thank God that He was willing to submit. Christ is the prototype of the saved man. If we would be saved, perhaps we would do as He did??

Be of of good courage, be of good cheer! For the Lamb is slain from the foundation of the world, and his blood shed for life to come and lift and restore all of creation. Be of good cheer! God has again sent messengers to proclaim His gospel! Be of good courage, for God has sent a servant who has shown the way, even by following the example of the Savior.
